Description
The BodyClock RNA Hair Test is an innovative, RNA-based test designed to determine your individual internal clock. It measures the activity of specific genes in your body, which have been identified over the past five years in several clinical studies conducted at the Charité University Medicine in Berlin. The analysis is based on hair follicles, which can be easily collected at home and then sent to the lab. From these hair follicles, we can extract the so-called RNA, which is responsible for producing important proteins in our body. Important: BodyClock does not analyze or sequence DNA (the human genome).
The results from the BodyClock test provide insights into your individual internal clock, your specific sleep type/chronotype (such as lark, owl, or dove), as well as the best times for you to sleep, eat, work, exercise, and more. A daily schedule tailored to your personal internal clock helps you implement our recommendations for improving your sleep into your daily routine.
The BodyClock RNA Test is a self-test for adults aged 18 and older that allows you to collect hair follicles (from your scalp) in a familiar environment, such as your home.

Delivery of the test kit is free to European countries, including Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Norway.
Prepaid return shipping for your sample is currently only available for shipments from Germany. We are already working on a solution for all other European Union countries.
If you are taking Prednisolone, we recommend not taking the test, as it may lead to inaccurate results. If you are using other corticosteroid medications, please contact us at (service@bodyclock.health).
For individuals who work shifts, it is important that the sample collection is done at least 3 days after the last night shift.

To collect the hair follicles, you will also need a standard pair of tweezers and scissors. Both must be cleaned with the provided alcohol swab before sample collection.
